The terrain of the high Cairngorm mountains are a vast arctic plateau which can be a harsh yet beautiful place during the winter months. The Lairg Ghru takes you into some of the remoter parts of the Cairngorms which are a serious place to be during winter storms. I wanted to reflect this in this painting.
