I tend to visit the Cairngorms during the winter time, it’s like stepping into an Arctic landscape, one of the many reasons why I love it! To take a walk among the ancient Caledonian pines and into the open heathland of the Abernethy nature reserve is a grounding experience. Beyond the pinewoods Ryvoan Bothy seems to embed itself into this landscape.
